CAPTAIN EMIL JOSEPH KAPAUN (CHAPLAIN)

Capt. Emil Joseph Kapaun (April 20, 1916-May 23, 1951 Was a Roman Catholic Priest and United States Army Chaplain who died as a prisoner of war in the Korean War.

On April 11, 2013, Chaplain Kapaun was awarded the Medal Of Honor posthumously for his actions on November 1-2, 1950 in north Korea.

He is the ninth American Military Chaplain Medal of Honor recipient. (Wikipedia)

Chaplain Kapaun was an inspiration to the other POW's regardless of their denomination as well as being loved by them.

Kenn Rutkofski and U.S. Army Jeep Picture and the "Rest Of The Story"

Kenn is standing in front of the Army Jeep that is numbered 5231951 which displays  the date that  Chaplain Emil J. Kapaun died as a POW in the Korean War.

Kenn was the first one to see the Jeep. He brought it to Don Liebner's attention who took the picture.

Now for the "Rest Of The Story": May 23rd was the day that our group toured the Chaplain's Museum.
